Greetings from the ARTS Academy! Kandra Gunter is a marketing teacher and DECA sponsor here at Andy Dekaney High School. Welcome you to our page!
Through the school's marketing courses (Entrepreneurship and Sports & Entertainment Marketing) and hospitality courses (Principles of Hospitaity & Tourism and Restaurant Management), Ms. Gunter and Eloise Reigrut (of the Professional Academy), partner as DECA sponsors. DECA enhances everyday learning activities in the classroom through field experiences, career exploration, leadership conferences, and competitive events -all of which our students participate in!
Our organization's mission is to prepare emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management. DECA’s core values and attributes are competence, innovation, integrity and teamwork. These values are central to DECA’s mission and purpose in classrooms around the world.

And on January 17th, these three yound men were holding the winning hands! The above students competed and placed in their respective events and will be traveling to Dallas to compete at the State-level this February 2014! Congratulations to ALL of our outstanding members and competitors, and remember with everything you do...Make It Count!!!

In addition to the amazing marketing, career exploration, and scholarship opportunities DECA has to offer our students, many of them also receive the amazing opportunity to manage and run our school-based enterprise [the Wildcat Corner School Store] where they gain invaluable hands-on experience on how to effectively manage a business!
